Hey.

So its been a while. I have been a bit busy with a number of things. The CakePHP talk I am doing for SydPHP is coming along nicely, and the workshop is starting to take shape really well. Google (Yes, I just referenced and linked Google) has kindly offered their space, and I have been in touch with a few old mates from school and University that are attending to see what I have to say for myself. Its shaping up to be a good evening. Hopefully the start of many more to come.

Upcoming Event - SydPHP CakePHP Presetation

With more of the details finalised and a public announcement made by SydPHP, I am happy to announce that I will be giving a presentation on CakePHP (introduction) as well as a workshop to get your hands dirty with some CakePHP code.

The event will take place at Google HQ in Sydney, who have graciously offered their offices for SydPHP's use for the night.

CakeFest 2009 here I come!

I'd like to thank everyone that has donated to assist in getting me to CakeFest 2009. A huge update and some offline anonymous contributors have pushed the funds to a level that has allowed me to secure flights, and confirm my attendance to CakeFest!

Not only has the efforts and generosity of the contributors been overwhelming, but the support from the community at large has assisted in generating interest, links, chatter and ultimately the cash required to pay for the air fares.

Useful Testing Images for Cropping and Uploading

I find myself dealing with image croppers, resizers and all sorts of image manipulation, no matter where I am working and what I am doing. The slightest offset or miscalculation can cause some weird results.

In order to assist debugging and visual identification of errors in cropping, I have created a set of clearly Portrait and Landscape images in a range of formats, including a couple with alpha transparency. You can download the image set here. A preview follows:
