Serious Branding

While I am far from an expert in this area, I have come to realise over the last couple of years how important it is to identify yourself as an important individual in the online community, and brand yourself appropriately.
I've been working on a whole range of changes to my personal site design, and it comes back to refreshing, but not overly changing the site style too much. Visitors come to expect a certain content and design from your site, and changing too much over a short period of time can be detrimental.
A little update. And some frustration thrown in for free.

Hey.
So its been a while. I have been a bit busy with a number of things. The CakePHP talk I am doing for SydPHP is coming along nicely, and the workshop is starting to take shape really well. Google (Yes, I just referenced and linked Google) has kindly offered their space, and I have been in touch with a few old mates from school and University that are attending to see what I have to say for myself. Its shaping up to be a good evening. Hopefully the start of many more to come.

With more of the details finalised and a public announcement made by SydPHP, I am happy to announce that I will be giving a presentation on CakePHP (introduction) as well as a workshop to get your hands dirty with some CakePHP code.
The event will take place at Google HQ in Sydney, who have graciously offered their offices for SydPHP's use for the night.

I'd like to thank everyone that has donated to assist in getting me to CakeFest 2009. A huge update and some offline anonymous contributors have pushed the funds to a level that has allowed me to secure flights, and confirm my attendance to CakeFest!
Not only has the efforts and generosity of the contributors been overwhelming, but the support from the community at large has assisted in generating interest, links, chatter and ultimately the cash required to pay for the air fares.

Goodness me! What a huge response I have been having to my previous post about tethering with Optus on the iPhone 3.0 beta 2 OS. More than I ever expected, really. Since the official release of the 3.0 OS, I am expecting more users to want a copy of the bundle, so a small update for you all on this...
Yes, the bundle still allows tethering for Optus with the official 3.0 iPhone OS. So you can request the bundle, install, and tether your phone for some awesome, cheap mobile computer net access. The process is simple...
