Project
PreBot (Arduino Based Robot)
An experiment in using an Arduino board, electronics and robotics.

Over the long weekend, I bought some new battery bits, as you saw previously. I've constructed a simple battery holder, and for the moments int in place with pins.
Whether or not this is a permanent fixture, I am not certain. So I am holding back with the glue for the moment.

Did a little bit of shopping today at Dick Smith Electronics to pickup a new battery holder and a small breadboard that can fit inside the back of the robot.
This will replace the ad-hoc battery pack I constructed out of two 2xAA holders, a plastic bag and some rubber bands. Plus it will avoid any more damage to the interior of the robot that was being caused by the shoddy soldering work on the vero board.
More balsa wood was obtained today too. I intend to get some concepts drawn up for the charging bay / dock as soon as possible, and start construction.
I've added pics to the media gallery showing the comparison of parts. Enjoy!

I didn't really intend to host a page aboue this, but via twitter I have been getting a lot of requests for links to the website describing the robot projcet I have been building with an Arduino board.
For now I have thrown this page in as one of the project pages on my site. This site was designed for minimal content, and as such, the skinny layout really makes a mess of things like all the linked media below.
I'll do my best to keep this up to date with information about the robot build, and as timer permits, back-date a few entries describing the build of the chassis, and get some code available for you guys to view.
Thanks for your show of interest. Feel free to get in touch with me.
